WINTER HIKES AROUND LAKE BOHINJ IN TRIGLAV NATIONAL PARK

WINTER HIKES IN TRIGLAV NATIONAL PARK – VOGEL AND VIŠEVNIK SUMMIT HIKES

5–7 February 2027 3 days 6 – 10 people HUF 69,000

Once again I'm inviting you to a wonderful place in Slovenia, Triglav National Park, for a 3-day winter tour. Physically the programme won't be demanding, but we need to prepare for wintry conditions with warm clothing and footwear. Over these three days we hike south of the Krma valley, above lakes Bohinj and Bled, where, depending on the weather, we will reach several summits. Adventure and good company guaranteed.

TOUR DIFFICULTY

This tour is a real treat for those who love varied terrain, wonderful snowy landscapes, beautiful panoramas and authentic Slovenian villages! I recommend it to those who hike regularly in winter too and have no trouble covering 10 – 15 km with some bigger climbs.

Important! In the mountains many unforeseeable factors can affect the programme (e.g. changeable weather). For this reason I cannot guarantee the success of the tour and cannot accept responsibility for changes. In extreme conditions the guide always decides on changes to the programme or the route!

PROGRAMME

  1. 01

    Day one

Departure at 06:00, meeting at the Őrmező P+R car park 📍 map , from where we travel by carpool towards Bled and on to Bohinjska Bistrica, where we stay. Today we hike up above Lake Bohinj, where a wonderful panorama awaits. Then we return and check in to our accommodation.

    Distance: 6 kmElevation: 300 mWalking time: 1 – 3 hours
  2. 02

    Day two

After a generous breakfast the day gets exciting, as we venture above the tree line: our first goal is the 2050 m Viševnik, followed by the 2132 m Mali Draški vrh, which offers a wonderful view of the country's highest peak, Triglav. Today's distance isn't too long and the terrain isn't too hard, but winter conditions can make things difficult, so it's worth preparing in advance. We'll be self-sufficient on the tour – there's a hut only at the starting point.

    Distance: 9 kmElevation: 950 mWalking time: 6 – 8 hours
  3. 03

    Day three

Today we hike up Vogel. After breakfast we head to the cable car and ride up below the summit; from there it's 3 km to the top with barely 400 metres of ascent. Vogel offers a wonderful panorama of the whole Triglav National Park. After admiring the view we hike back to the cable car, ride down and head home. Arrival late in the evening.

Good to know

Travel

We travel by carpool; those travelling to the venue on their own settle the travel costs among themselves. Those travelling by carpool share the total travel cost (of all vehicles) on average. Drivers and guides do not contribute to the travel costs. The travel cost is split between the passengers of each car, divided by the number of people in the car; the guide and the driver pay no travel costs! If you have a car and driving experience, sign up as a carpool driver!

Weather

Be prepared for changeable winter weather; wind and snow can come at any time, so bring layered, warm and waterproof clothing and suitable equipment.

Food

During the hikes everyone takes care of their own food: sandwiches, sweet and savoury snacks, chocolate, energy bars.

Insurance

Participation requires travel insurance covering the whole period, valid for mountain rescue and hospital treatment. Recommended insurer: EUB, extreme sports category eub.hu ↗
