TOUBKAL TREK – MOROCCO'S HIGHEST PEAK
THE ROOF OF MOROCCO AND NORTH AFRICA, TOUBKAL (4167 M), IS WAITING FOR YOU – COME IF YOU WANT MORE THAN AN ORDINARY HIKE
North Africa, the Atlas Mountains, Berber villages – join us on a real adventure, culture and food tour into the heart of Morocco, where we climb the exciting Jbel Toubkal. Morocco is one of the most fascinating countries in North Africa, with deserts, green plateaus, high mountains, oases and, of course, a wonderful coastline. On this tour we explore the Atlas Mountains and the vibrant, exciting world of Marrakesh.
There will be a challenge on this tour, as we have to reach the summit of Toubkal at over 4000 metres, but afterwards comes relaxation and discovering the country's culture and flavours in the heart of the famous Berber city of Marrakesh.
I recommend this programme to those who hike regularly and have no trouble covering 1000 metres of ascent a day on rocky terrain with a heavier 10 – 12 kg backpack.
TOUR DIFFICULTY
Technically this tour won't be too difficult: if you hike abroad regularly and can confidently manage 1000 metres of ascent within 5 – 10 km, you can safely take it on. The weather can affect the difficulty, but you can prepare for that with the right clothing and equipment! Our route leads over earth, gravel and rocky terrain, all well built and safe to walk!
The weather can affect it, but you can prepare for that with the right clothing and equipment! Expect some patches of snow, so microspikes will come in handy.
Important! In the mountains many unforeseeable factors can affect the programme (e.g. changeable weather). For this reason I cannot guarantee the success of the tour and cannot accept responsibility for changes. In extreme conditions the guide always decides on changes to the programme or the route!

Day three
Today will be a long day: we get up early, around 04:00, to start for the summit in good time. The route isn't long but has plenty of ascent, which is why an early start matters. A steep but well-trodden path takes us to the summit, which we reach 2 – 4 hours after setting off. With luck a wonderful panorama opens up, with the other peaks of the Atlas in view. After the photos we descend to the refuge, have a short breakfast, return to Imlil and reach Marrakesh in the late afternoon.
